QUEEN OF BATS
And Other Stories by Rachel Reeher
Released as a limited edition, handcrafted mini book. Hand-printed linocut cover. Hand cut, assembled, and bound.
In Queen of Bats: And Other Stories by debut author Rachel Reeher, women mourn in absurd ways. A caretaker strips drab floral wallpaper, dressed in only gloves and underwear, while her sister grows sicker. A woman refuses to leave a bathtub filled with Irish Breakfast tea. A divorcee bakes her ex’s golf tees, shoelaces, and baby teeth into eighty-six batches of sweets.
The four short stories in this collection reimagine domesticity as a place of rebellion. Women revel in their own grotesquerie, finding bliss in betrayal.
